I am definitely getting excited for the Summer Olympics! In 2000, I was between jobs during the Olympics so I was able to watch about 90% of the televised coverage. Actually, it probably got a little out of hand because by the second week, I wasn’t leaving the apartment and I was dreaming about the Olympics. So since I actually have a job this year, I will probably be up at 5am every morning so I can watch before I go to work. Yes, I am aware that I am crazy.

Also, Wired News has an interesting story about how news sites across the world are regionalizing their content so those of us here across the pond cannot watch coverage of the Olympics by anyone other than NBC. I will be interested to see if it actually works. NBC is basically working on the premise that people will be too lazy to try to find ways to circumvent the regionalization security. Don’t underestimate bored programmers with nothing to do at work.
