Went to the TCM spin at Axis last night. Good, fun set, but I was hoping for a little more show, and a little less DJ. I really enjoyed the set though, I’m a big fan of that heavy breaks/drum & bass style. The crowd was surreal though. As Eric said, “It’s like all the cool kids stayed home to program while the geeks came out to party”. Right down to the kid sitting in the back drawing Pegasuss Napoleon Dynamite-style.

Went to see Primus last night at the FleetBoston Pavilion. Great show but a slightly odd place to see a band like that. The first set was a little “jam band”-ish but still good. The second set rocked though! They played thier album Frizzle Fry in its entirety. My favorite album by them and they rocked it out. Its nice to see the original drummer Herb again. I saw Primus on thier last tour last year where they did the same gimmick of playing Sailing the Seas of Cheese in its entirety.

The other cool thing they are doing is posting recordings of the show online for sales to download. Great idea, i bought the recordings for the show last year and will defintely buy the show this time as well.

Saw Primus Tuesday night, what an awesome show! They played the Orpheum Theatre here in Boston. The same venue I saw them for the first time back in 1996. The band itself hasn’t played together in 4 years and its been probably close to 7 since they played with original drummer Herb. It was definitely a little different they past primus shows with a bunch of extended jamming in the middle of songs and Les’ crazy entourage coming out for a few of the tunes. They ended up playing nearly 2.5 hours, and there was no opening band. That was great. All in all though, an amazing show.

and what’s really cool is that they are selling recordings of each show!

And to show my diversity of interests, I saw Les Miserables the following night at the Colonial Theatre. It was a great show, and the cast did an excellent job.
