Pedro on Manny

February 25th, 2004 ahowes

This has to be one of the funniest Pedro quotes ever:

“I know there’s been a lot of talk regarding Nomar and Manny,” Martinez said. “But Manny’s in La La Land. I haven’t talked to Manny in a month, month and a half. So I don’t expect Manny to talk. Manny never talks. He doesn’t even know where he’s standing. But one thing he does know is how to hit, and how to play the game.”

In an interview with Red Sox Pitcher, Scott Sauerbeck, when asked what his hobbies are, Sauerbeck replied, “I don’t do much. That’s it. Play with the kids, drink beer, play baseball.”

Conspiracy

April 17th, 2003 ahowes

Conspiracy theory of the week: I think Ramiro Mendoza is a mole for the New York Yankees.

He has blown the lead in just about every game he has pitched so far this year. Sure he’s not the dominant set up man he was when he was with the Yankess but he shouldn’t be this bad. I think sometime around the end of the season, the Red Sox will be in a situation where they need to win to make the playoffs, Mendoza will take the mound, blow the lead, and then rip off his jersey, revealing a Yankees t-shirt.

Update

Haven’t had much to say recently…the baseball season finally got under way, looking forward to going to a bunch of Red Sox games this year. Should be fun. I am excited about the new positional player additions…luke warm about the pitching changes. They haven’t looked to good so far. Well, its early.
